Coconut Kisses

A holiday favorite cookie inspired by the Better Homes and Gardens New CookBook, copyrighted in 1953. This recipe will make approximately 1 1/2 dozen cookies.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 cups corn flakes
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (moist)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff
  3. Add the sugar into the egg whites and continue to beat until mixed
  4. Slowly fold in the corn flakes, coconut and nuts
  5. Add vanilla and mix well
  6. Grease cookie sheet - make sure to grease it well
  7. Drop onto cookie sheet from a teaspoon
  8. Bake 15 to 20 minutes - cooking time will vary
  9. Remove cookies from pan immediately after pulling from the oven. If cookies stick to pan, return to oven and they will soften
