Coconut Kisses
A holiday favorite cookie inspired by the Better Homes and Gardens New CookBook, copyrighted in 1953. This recipe will make approximately 1 1/2 dozen cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 2 cups corn flakes
- 1 cup shredded coconut (moist)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Beat egg whites until stiff
- Add the sugar into the egg whites and continue to beat until mixed
- Slowly fold in the corn flakes, coconut and nuts
- Add vanilla and mix well
- Grease cookie sheet - make sure to grease it well
- Drop onto cookie sheet from a teaspoon
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes - cooking time will vary
- Remove cookies from pan immediately after pulling from the oven. If cookies stick to pan, return to oven and they will soften
