- Heat the oil over medium-high heat using a dutch oven, skillet or non-stick pan. Add chopped onion and cook 4 - 5 minutes, until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the ground beef and cook for 7 - 10 minutes, breaking apart as you cook. The ground beef should be browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the remaining ingredients, stirring to combine, and reduce to low. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, until desire thickness.
