
Chocolate Drop Cookies
A Christmas cookie favorite. This vintage recipe was inspired by the Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook, copyrighted in 1953.

Method
- Preheat oven to 400°
- Combine butter and shortening in your mixing bowl and cream it together
- Slowly add sugar and continue to mix
- Add egg and mix thoroughly
- Scrape down your bowl
- Add melted chocolate, mixing well
- Sift together flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl
- Slowly add your dry mixture and milk to your cream, alternating between the two
- Add vanilla, chopped nuts and stir
- Drop by spoonful onto a baking sheet
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes as cooking times may vary
- Coat with powdered sugar or a frosting
