Ingredients
  

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 - 3 tbsp milk or half-and-half
  • dash cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Melt the stick of butter in a small pot over medium heat.
  • Add egg yolks, lemon juice, and milk to the melted butter and continually whisk for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until sauce starts to get thick and frothy. Remove from heat.
  • If adding optional cayenne pepper, sprinkle it in and stir. Serve immediately.
